Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a proud husband and father of two beautiful adult daughters; about to become a grandfather for the first time. I'm a Clinical Psychologist with a strong interest in trauma, and in particular post-traumatic stress disorder. I'm in private practice with my beautiful wife, Kath, who is also a Clinical Psychologist. I have had several different careers, and believe these and life experience has set me up well as a psychologist Why did you join Rotary? Because I was invited Because it was a way of giving back to the community And as a way of meeting others outside my normal professional network. What in your life do you feel most proud of? My family The two houses I have built (hands on) My work If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be? I don’t regard them as possessions, but I would have to say my family. How do you spend your free time? I love walking with Kath, paddling our kayaks, and working around the house. What are your top three favourite books or movies and why? I enjoy survival stories, because they give me an insight into the human mind. Books: Papillon (Henri Charrier), Long walk To Freedom (Nelson Mandela), anything to do with survival/real life adventure e.g., Mountain climbing What is a skill you'd like to learn and why? Playing a musical instrument. I initially thought guitar (I failed), then piano (I failed again). I would settle for a didgeridoo. I admire those who can express themselves musically.
