COFFS CITY ROTARY • NSW • DISTRICT 9650

Weekly Meeting 10 October 2016

We were fortunate enough this week to be visited by Rotary District Governor Ian Jackson and his wife Barbara.

Ian advised that the primary thing to get out of Rotary is to have fun. He reminded us of the RI President’s theme for the year – Doing Good in the World.

Ian advised that Rotary is much more flexible these days. An example of this is that the minimum is now for at least two meeting per month.

He also conveyed an update on the Rotary Foundation. He mentioned that the ‘End Polio Now’ program is almost complete. There were 17 cases last year in India and Pakistan and the world may be clear by the end of the year. However the program will continue on for another three years to ensure that eradication is complete.

Barbara’s Partner Project is to raise funds for Australian Rotary Health Research, which will assist with All Stars Research and provide funds for PhD project research.

For all that and more, be sure to check out the Coffs City Chatroom.
