Due to it being our first meeting after the holiday break, reports were limited this week.
Brian Leiper reminded members that there is currently a good exhibition titled Aussie Legends at The National Cartoon Gallery. It finishes next Monday, so there’s not a lot of time left if you want to see it. Also, visitor numbers for December and January have been very good with good numbers also attending the cartooning workshops. Construction of the new building is now expected to start early February as there has been unexpected delay with the Construction Certificate.
Melissa Nunn advised that she and George have started work on this year’s Wine, Beer & Food Day and it’s progressing smoothly so far. Also, in relation to her role at Prosper, The Koala Hospital has donated ten koala water drinkers to Prosper for distribution in the local area. She is working with Nana Glenn Landcare group to place them in critical areas. Melissa thinks this could be a good opportunity for our club to assist and get involved as a Rotary Project.
Macca reminded everyone that due to the Australia Day long weekend, there will be no meeting next Monday (27th). The vocational visit to The C.ex Stadium is till set down for 3rd February and more details will be
provided closer to the date, however please note that partners are welcome to attend this visit.
Secretary Geoff advised that C.ex has notified us that they will not be managing the Cycle Challenge this year, so unless we can locate someone else to do it, we will have to cancel it for 2020. Geoff also read an email from NYSF student Ryan Murphy, thanking our club for supporting him.
For all that and more, be sure to check out this week’s edition of the Coffs City Chatroom.
