Our guest speaker this week was Dr Alan Tankel, head of the Emergency Department at Coffs Harbour Hospital.
Alan told us some interesting facts about Covid-19 and how it has affected our Pacific Island neighbours, PNG and Pakistan along with some stories of his travels to those areas. Alan is working with our club on how we can best assist the Tongan community with their health needs, in a similar way to which we did in April 2017. Alan is going to liaise with his contacts in Tonga to check on what they need and the best way we can support and assist them.
Club member Bob Carle also reported back to the club about his attendance at a recent meeting of FLOT (Friday Lunch on Thursday), at which John Rafferty confirmed C.ex will be the naming rights sponsor for the Coffs Coast Festival of Motor Sport. John also encouraged other FLOT members to get involved with the event and to become a sponsor if possible.
Sawtell Golf Club have contacted President Elect Paul Mcleod to advise that they are happy to work with us for our Charity Golf Day. Paul will advise
more at our next meeting.
For all that and more, check out this week’s edition of the Coffs City Chatroom.
