Weekly Meeting 7 September 2020

This week, we spoke about the ‘Polished Man’ project that aims to reduce domestic violence against children:

Several members agreed to support this cause by painting one fingernail for the month of October and donating to the cause. We’ll keep everyone updated once the project begins.

Due to the lack of a guest speaker president Jay introduced  Peter Wardman, who gave us a rundown on the position with the council’s desire to lease out the Coffs Airport. Peter urged members to have a look at this issue and express their views to council. Apparently council have voted to go ahead with the leasing option, the motion being carried on the mayor’s casting vote. A rescission motion has been put forward and council are to vote on the rescission motion this Thursday.

Following Peter’s talk there was some good-hearted fellowship.

Don’t forget to get down to the Bunker Cartoon Gallery and have a look at what is going on. The roofing should be completed this week.
