Weekly Meeting 12 February 2018

This week, we learned that the secretary of Rotary District 9650 (the district of which we are a part) is calling for nominations for the role of District Governor Designate. Coffs Harbour Rotarians have been District Governor before (most recently Rob Anderson of Coffs Harbour Rotary), so it will be interesting to see whose hands go up.

This year’s District Conference will take place from 8 to 11 March 2018. The focus of this year’s conference will be ordinary Rotarians and what Rotary is able to achieve because of what we do. Attendees will be entertained and inspired and some will say ‘I didn’t know Rotary did that’.

Mike Blewitt confirmed the date for this year’s Bonville International Charity Golf Day is 26 August 2018. We’re aiming for at least 100 players this year. Please put the date in your diaries.

Stan Paull advised that he and John Donaldson have been investigating updating or replacing the service club sign near the Midway Motel on the highway. Their idea is to replace it with a new Rotary sign and get the other local clubs involved. They are checking with council and President Bernard will raise it with the other clubs at this week’s cluster meeting.

For all that and more, check out this week’s edition of the Coffs City Chatroom.
